Greetings Brothers, Sisters and Supporters,
I am overcome with zeal, enthusiasm, excitement and expectancy for the future. Id like to personally thank you one by one for your time, talent and tenacity during this years IN The Life Atlanta Black Gay Pride Celebration, however I know I would miss someone, So I personally write this letter in the hopes that it is posted and seen by as many people as possible and some one will turn to you and say” If you didn’t get his letter Raymond and ITLA says THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!”.
As President of ITLA, I and our board along with our volunteers were faced with many challenges on the road to Black Gay Pride 2011, but it has now come and gone and prayerfully the greatness of it and its purpose outweighs the challenges and barriers.
Believe it or not we are already planning 2012 as im composing this letter. To the tireless efforts of all the planners and promoters I tip my hat to you and shine a light of pride upon you please know that the collective efforts of us all made this year a success.
Special thanks to the Melia Hotel, for their patience to their banquet, security, valet and front desk staff AWESOME! To those who in spite of merged together as one to serve tens of thousands, that one being Traxx, Traxx Girls, Rockstar Productions, Xtreme Entertainment, SBGA Summit and ITLA we are still committed to bridging gaps.
A Special thanks to Efrain, Tim and Mario for humility, bravery, and forgiveness please know that it doesn’t go unnoticed, what you put out does actually come back THANKS!!
What ever your role from our strong foundation that is our Volunteers, to our backbone that is our Sponsors, ASO’s, CBO’s, Federal and State government, and our sustaining structure that is our community, locally and across the globe that unanimously echoed from sea to shining sea that yes we matter and we will support you in your service!!
Our sincere thanks to our Vendors both in the Marketplace and the Health & Life Expo, you proved that we all benefit when we work as a team, Thanks to those who thought it not robbery to come and share their expertise, gifts, time and talent in areas of education, entertainment, art, science, health and wellness and yes even the parties and the fun.
Im in a place in consciousness where I can openly, publicly, sincerely and honestly say that if anyone was cause hurt or pain on any level due to our short comings and or missteps I apologize, and I do so with the hope that you accept it knowing that the infractions were not intentional. Words are things and they take on a life of their own and once they are shared they permeate the atmosphere and take root in the home of someone’s mind, always chose them wisely.
I am not always aware of what’s around the river bend, but I take comfort in the seeds we planted this weekend of positive collective coming together of minds and ideas to improve our selves first then that of our community, cities, states, and nations thus establishing a healthier livelier quality of life and co-existence now and in the future,
Peace, Light, Love and Oneness,
